Updated 2/21/2009 This site contains documents & analysis relating to the effort beginning in 2007 to institute county-wide planning & zoning. This attempt was initiated after someone supposedly proposed a "halfway house" development for up to 400 sex offenders. While letters to the editor voiced a suspicion that it was all a scam, people in the area supposedly to be affected started a successful petition drive to place zoning on the ballot. Open House meetings scheduled for early December: Updates, July 2008 Since the commission has chosen not to post meeting minutes on their website because "people may be confused," I've decided to post them here. See the Minutes Section below. November 2007 - The Zoning COmmission has been puttering along since June with no real progress or defined purpose. We've been receiving "guidance" from various public bodies (Extension office, RPC, city planner, etc.). As of last Tuesday night (11/6/07), we started examining what direction we want to go in a structured manner.
