2001 Hunters Open Pictures & Comments

Last updated 9/26/01

The 2002 Hunters Open was a sellout! For the first time, we had to schedule shooters on Field 4, which faces a western hillside (so plan early for 2002).

Saturday was perfect, but a front moved in around noon on Sunday, making the .410 event a bit dicey. Dan Lombard of the Kansas City area came into the last event with 3 100s and a nice lead in HOA. He'd won the 12 Ga in a shootoff and the 20 Ga with the lone straight. Bob Ruby had taken the doubles event with a 99 and won the 28 Ga shootoff. Ruby's 98 won the wind-blown .410 bore, giving him HAA while Lombard held on to win HOA.

Bob Ruby of Iowa won the coveted Ross Young print as High All Around champ. We call it the "Superchamp"
